MAKAMBE/MARTIN

      This piece was channelled during my time at the Playwright's Colony at the Banff Centre for The Arts in 2017. Banff is an incredibly spiritual place, and I tapped into the energy immediately. I was working on an upcoming solo called Our Fathers, Sons, Lovers and Little Brothers which will be produced by Alberta Theatre Projects and b current in 2019. To warm up before devising, I always invite my body, mind and breath into presence by moving to music. On this day, however, I had the strong impulse to listen to the words of Dr. Martin Luther King. This is a video of what emerged.
